Last Weeks Events

This post may be sorta on the long side but a lot happened this week!! Read on if you wish!!
Monday:
Slept in & then just chillled all day with the family!! (oh & all my shows started back up again!)
Tuesday:
I went to lunch with Tiff, Shay & Stacia to celebrate her (stacia) getting engaged! On my way across the street from work to Olive Garden i managed to tap a curb & pop my front tire completely. Work was so horrible! After being there for about 5 minutes i knew that the day was going to be one of those that NEVER end!! Enough said on that!! (just plain right bad!) That night i got a text from Axton inviting me to go to Kolob sledding/tubing... I agreed to it before he said we will be leaving @ 7:30 AM!!!!!!!
Wednesday:

S0... 7:30am came pretty fast. After picking up everyone we headed up to Kolob. Although it was long day was very eventful & very very fun! It ranged from finding out not only were we sledding/ tubing but we would be riding snowmobiles to Callins cabin to driving off the cliff & taking out a tree to sledding off the balcony on completely flat, pretty hard ground to knee deep snow in some places to me falling off the snowmobile cuz of the icy step! Don't get me wrong it was a freaking awesome day! But to be honest i have never seen my life flash before my eyes as many times that day as it did during the duration on the snowmobiles!!

The Whole Group:
(me, axton, gabe, rash, annie, chancen, tyson & callin)

Me & Rash
(the HUGE smiles were mainly because we made it off the mountain safely!!)

Me & Axton
(in case you cant tell i was holding on for dear life entire day!!)

And last but not least.... Callin in his soccer shorts & snow boats!!!
(There is quite the funny story goes with this picture.. We were standing on the porch shedding our snow clothes before we went into the cabin & I glanced over at Callin while he was undoing his snow pants & he said " dont worry i'm not naked under here but i wish i were!!")
Thursday:
Basically work & more work!
Friday:
Worked til about 3-4, then went home to help Sky work on my dresser he is building! Spent an hour or so staining all the wood.
Saturday:
Watched my little brother dominate in his Basketball game!! Woke up with a small rash around my leg by my ankles...
Sunday:
Woke up to my whole body (excluding my face) covered in a red rash. After showing my aunt (who i work with.. nurse) She told me that i am allergic to the antibiotic i was taking for an infection! That makes a 2 that i can't have!!
..The End..
(hopefully i didnt bore you with my week happenings!)
back to my staining & dresser making project!!

AWESOME BOOKS

I am not huge reader... Well to be honest I HATE READING!! But when i hear of a good book, I can't put it down. I have to read it from start to finish before i can go to bed. I read the first book in one day, the next day i read the second & in 2 days i read the 3rd. I have started this series by the wonderful artist, Anita Stansfield. I would recommend it to everyone!!!!

(& thanks Kasey & Grandma for letting me borrow the last ones)

The Spirit of "CHRIST"mas

Today i was reading this talk by my favorite President Henry B. Eyring, called "Home For Christmas." I came across a part that really struck me it reads:

"What all of us long for in our hearts, at Christmastime and always, is to feel bound together in love with the sweet assurance that it can last forever. This is the promise of eternal life, which God has called His greatest gift to His children (see D&C 14:7). That is made possible by the gifts to us of His Beloved Son: the Savior’s birth, Atonement, and Resurrection. It is through the Savior’s life and mission that we have the assurance that we can be together in love and live forever in families."

His talk was based on 4 main topics:
1. Longing for Eternal Love (D&C 14:7)
2. Finding the Promised Joy (Matt 6: 14-15)
3. Felling the Joy of Giving (Mosiah 4: 20-23 & Revelations 13:8)
4. Blessed with his light (Moroni 7: 16, D&C 81:5 & 3 Nephi 19:24-25)

I would encourage you all too read it if you have a little extra time on your hands this holiday season!! Or it'd be a great fhe lesson. Just go to lds.org or in the Dec. 2009 Ensign or Liahona to find it. Its a great talk.

(p.s. Also, just a side note...I am no longer a private blog. Didn't like it!)

A Love Lost...

You will never know true happiness until you have truly loved, and you will never understand what pain really is until you have lost it :(

New Accessory :(

Check out my new accessory!

It's one of those one size fits all... ugly white ones they give to the patients who test positive w/ the H1N1 flu. Ya, lucky me i've got it! :(
Sunday morning i woke up with a sore throat & cough, later that day i started to get a headache/fever. I stayed home from church figuring i'd be better by morning so i could go to school... NOPE! I woke up Monday morning feeling even crappier! So i emailed my professors & stayed home. I woke up Tuesday & got ready for work even though i still felt like crap. I got to work & the doctors said before i worked they wanted to test me for the flu. And just my luck i tested positive! So now... no work, no school.... but i gotta wear this stupid mask!
Pros of the mask:
keeps my mouth & nose warm in this windy weather...

Cons of the mask:
annoying, can't sleep with it on!
is very claustrophobic
can't breathe with it on
bugs my ears

Dear John's

So i was on Dear Elder today writing a missionary & there was a link on the left side of the page saying DEAR JOHN LETTERS, i decided hmm.. reading those would probably make me laugh & i need a laugh so i clicked on it. And WOW! Holy Smokes some people are HARSH! But I did find two i REALLY love so i wanna share it with you: (i am going to insert some names to make it better & more interesting!! haha most will understand)

Dear Elder Long,
I want you to know that you mean the world to me. I will always treasure the moments we spent together, and I know we will have many more of those moments in the future, considering that I'm marrying your older brother Trevor in two weeks! Yeah, isn't it crazy! We had wanted you to come to the wedding, but we decided we couldn't wait that long. We're getting married on Dec 6th in the DC Temple. I know I promised to wait for you, but I know God has something better in mind for both of us. But we're thinking that we might name our first son after you. That would be nice, wouldn't it? I hope we can still be really good friends, otherwise Trevor would feel bad. Anyways, have a great day!

~Whitney

I had a friend who received a Dear John and this was his response after gathering photo copies of all the Elders' in his district girlfriends, sisters, cousins, etc. (around her age & a little older) He then sent all of the pictures back to his "sweetheart" with the following note:

Dear Whitney,

I am glad you have found someone to share eternity with. I, however, forgot which one you are. If you could please remove your picture and send the rest back, that would be great! Thanks!

Much love,
Elder Long
